Appointment Types

Service Includes

1. Renew or Replace
Class E Driver’s License (DL)
* Identification Card (ID)

     

Renew: For customers whose credential has expired or is about to expire.

Florida DL and ID card holders may renew their credential up to 18 months in advance of the expiration date.

 

Replace: For customers seeking to replace a lost or stolen credential. Or requesting for address, name, designation, restrictions, or endorsements changes. 

Customers may replace their driver license or ID card prior to its expiration if the credential is lost, stolen or they need to make an update.

 

If you are changing your name and/or address, proof of address and/or name change document must be provided.

2. Original 
* Identification Card (ID)
* Learner’s License
Class E Driver’s License (DL)

This appointment is for customers who are seeking to obtain a FL DL/ID/Learner’s License w/waiver for the first time, customers who hold a valid U.S. driver license and need to transfer to FL, or customers who have completed the Learner’s License exam online or in a classroom and need to obtain their license.

3. Reinstatement

Customers who need to clear a suspension, revocation, or disqualification on their driver license.

4. Class E Knowledge Exam
* First tie US License

For persons learning to drive who are 15 years of age or older and need to take the written exam consisting of 50 multiple choice questions about traffic laws and traffic signs. The Class “E” License exam is in any of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, Haitian Creole, Russian and Spanish.

5. Class E Driving Exam

This appointment is for customers who are eligible to take the Class E driving exam. You must provide a vehicle for the driving exam. The vehicle must have a valid tag, proof of insurance, and pass a vehicle inspection.

6. CDL Written/Endorsement
Exam/Hazmat/Fingerprint

This appointment is for customers who want to take a CDL written exam including HazMat endorsement. The written exam is in the following languages: English and Spanish
 
 
*Note: Hazmat must be taken in English. 

7. CDL Original, Renewal, Replacement
* Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

* Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)

Original: Customers who have already passed the required CDL written exams or have an out of state CDL and Florida is their new state of residence.

Renew: Florida CDL holders may renew their credential up to 12 months in advance.

Replace: Customers may replace their Florida CDL prior to its expiration if the credential is lost, stolen or they need to make an update.

 

CLP: Customers who have already passed the required CDL written exams and need a permit to allow them to complete the required skills exams.

8. Any Service with a Sign Language Interpreter

This appointment is for customers who require service and need a Sign Language Interpreter provided by the Department.

 

To allow for sufficient time to schedule the interpreter, please select an appointment for a minimum of one week from today.
